Necromancy
Necromancy is the most forbidden art in Velmora — a skill that cannot be learned through conventional means. Only those who have taken the life of another player may even begin the long, harrowing quest to unlock its secrets. The path demands mastery of magery at its highest level, requiring the rare tomes that push a mage beyond the normal limits of study. Morvath, God of Death and the Afterlife, watches all who tamper with the boundary between the living and the dead. His domain encompasses souls, fate, and judgment, and he does not look kindly upon those who bind spirits without purpose. The Bonecallers — necromancers who raise the dead not for conquest but to learn from those who came before — walk a razor's edge between his tolerance and his wrath. Casting necromantic spells is forbidden by most societies, and those who practice it openly mark themselves as outcasts. The power it grants is undeniable: the ability to summon spectral allies, drain the life force of enemies, and commune with spirits trapped within the thinning Veil. But every use erodes the caster's connection to the living world, leaving them pale, cold, and increasingly distant from those they once called allies.
