Crafting
The forge is the beating heart of civilization in Velmora. Under the watchful legacy of Thalrion, God of the Forge, crafters shape raw ore into blades that can fell giants and stitch leather into armor that turns aside arrows. Crafting is not a single discipline but a family of specializations — blacksmithing, carpentry, tailoring, and more — each with its own mastery path. A blacksmith may further specialize in dragon craftsmanship, weapon forging, armor shaping, or repair work. To advance beyond the fundamentals, a crafter must seek out master artisans scattered across Velmora, each guarding techniques that cannot be learned from books alone. Legendary crafters even seek the fabled Great Forge of Kar-Thol, where Thalrion's last embers are said to still burn. The quality of a crafted item depends not only on the crafter's skill level but also on the materials used and the conditions under which the work is done. Some of the rarest items in Velmora can only be forged in a specific location at a specific time, under conditions that align once in a generation.
