Aerion
God of Storms & the Sky
Aerion is one of the oldest gods, born from the very first winds that rushed across Velmora when the world took form. While other gods sought to shape the land, forge mountains, or raise cities, Aerion claimed the skies — forever untamed and boundless. He is a god of change, freedom, and raw elemental power.
Known as the Skyborn Tempest, Aerion's presence is felt in howling winds, in the crash of thunder, and in the unpredictable fury of storms. To some he is a protector, shielding travelers and sailors from danger. To others he is a force of destruction whose storms level castles and sink fleets without warning. Aerion does not care for kings or empires — he respects only strength, willpower, and those who embrace the chaos of life. When the Sundering War broke out, Aerion remained neutral at first, believing the world should decide its own fate. But when Malrik's abyssal corruption began poisoning the skies, turning rain into black storms that spread sickness, Aerion descended in a tempest of fury. His greatest battle was fought high in the storm-wracked skies above the Shattered Expanse, where his rage split the heavens and created a permanent storm that still rages today. However, Aerion did not agree with Solmara and the other gods when they sealed Malrik away. He believed no god should be imprisoned and swore to never again be bound by divine rules. Since then he has remained an independent force — neither fully aligned with order nor chaos. As the Three Black Suns begin to align, Aerion must choose whether to take action or remain free. His followers believe his choice will shape the storms of the future — whether they bring renewal or destruction remains unknown.
