Solmara
Goddess of the Sun & Radiance
Solmara was the first deity to emerge from the Eternal Dawn, an endless radiant light that stretched across the void before time began. Her existence represents the cycle of creation, warmth, and renewal. She embodies the sun's nurturing power, as well as its ability to burn away impurity and corruption.
Solmara's light birthed the first sunrise, signaling the dawn of life and the balance between night and day. Her purpose became clear: to illuminate the world, guide mortals toward justice, and protect Velmora from being consumed by shadow. As Malrik's whispers of ambition spread through the Abyssal Shards, Solmara's role became one of protection and subtle intervention. Rather than confronting Malrik directly, she focused on fortifying mortal hearts with hope, resilience, and justice. Her followers — the Dawnforged paladins and Sunfire healers — led purification crusades to cleanse corrupted regions and seal off Abyssal Crystal zones. One of Solmara's most significant interventions was the Solar Judgement, unleashed during the collapse of the Aetherion Empire. She purged several corrupted leyline nexuses and halted the expansion of Abyssal zones, but at a terrible cost — it drained much of her divine essence, leaving her weakened. Since then, her light has not burned as brightly, and her followers work tirelessly to protect what remains of her power. With Solmara weakened, the Blackened Sun cult — a secretive order devoted to extinguishing her light — has become a growing threat. They use Abyssal Shards to conduct dark rituals aimed at draining the last remnants of her radiance. Her Grand Cathedral, built atop the site of the Solar Judgement, stands as a beacon of hope, its golden spires reflecting sunlight at dawn.
