Eldara
Goddess of Magic & Knowledge
Before the first spell was cast, before mortals could write or understand the world, Eldara was there — a luminous force of knowledge and raw arcane energy. While other gods shaped land, sky, and sea, Eldara sculpted magic itself, weaving the threads of the arcane into Velmora.
Eldara created the Arcane Weave, the invisible force that allows magic to exist in Velmora, and gifted mortals with the ability to learn and cast spells. She is called the First Scholar, the Watcher of the Unknown, and the Eternal Seeker. Unlike other gods who demand devotion, Eldara values curiosity, favoring those who seek knowledge above all else. During the Sundering War, Eldara did not take up arms. Instead, she gathered knowledge, creating the Codex of Eternity — an artifact said to contain every spell ever conceived. She hid arcane secrets in ancient libraries, knowing that if Malrik won, knowledge itself might be erased. Some believe she betrayed the gods by refusing to share her most powerful spells, fearing that even the gods were unworthy of absolute knowledge. Her worshippers are found wherever knowledge is sought — from the Grand Archives of Iltharion to the floating Arcane Sanctum, the ruined Lost College, and the forbidden Whispering Vaults. Eldara does not favor worshippers based on faith — she values those who seek knowledge, whether for good or ill. As the Eclipse Prophecy draws near, scholars believe Eldara foresaw these events long ago and hid the answers somewhere in Velmora. Whether she left behind a final spell or deliberately ensured that no one could ever control fate remains her greatest mystery.
