Archery
The bow is a weapon of patience and precision. In Velmora, an archer does not simply point and release — they account for wind, distance, the weight of their chosen arrowhead, and the movement of their quarry. Archery is a skill that rewards preparation: selecting the right arrow for the right target, choosing an elevated position before the fight begins, and knowing when to loose and when to hold. At lower skill levels, an archer's shots drift and their draw is slow. As mastery grows, the archer gains access to specialized techniques — rapid volleys that suppress advancing enemies, piercing shots that punch through armor, and silent draws that let a hunter strike from concealment without revealing their position. The finest archers in Velmora are said to be able to place an arrow through a keyhole at two hundred paces. Whether serving as a skirmisher on the battlefield or a lone hunter in the wilds, the archer controls the engagement from a distance, dictating the terms of every encounter before the first blade is drawn.
