Humans

The Enduring Ones

Humans began as small, scattered tribes of farmers, herders, and hunters, living off the land across the diverse regions of Velmora. Lacking the inherent magical power of the Zaryn or the physical strength of the Drakthar, they learned to rely on cooperation, resourcefulness, and ingenuity. When the Aetherion Empire collapsed and the world was thrown into chaos by the Grand Nexus explosion, Humans found themselves uniquely positioned to thrive in the aftermath. They absorbed the remnants of lost knowledge, formed alliances with Dwarfs, traded with the Vashari, and studied magic from surviving Zaryn scholars. Over time, they established kingdoms, trade networks, and schools of magic, blending the knowledge of other races with their own innovations. Today, Humans are known for their versatility, ambition, and ability to build thriving civilizations in any environment — from tropical coasts to snowy highlands. They are the mediators and diplomats of Velmora, their ability to forge alliances making them influential in the world's political landscape.

Arcanists

The Arcanists are humans descended from early magic researchers who studied alongside surviving Zaryn scholars and remnants of the Aetherion legacy. They settled near leyline-rich areas, ancient ruins, and forgotten libraries, dedicating themselves to learning, innovating, and controlling magic. Although they lack the innate magical blood of the Zaryn, the Arcanists compensate through study, creativity, and artifact recovery, making them some of the most resourceful spellcasters in Velmora.

Plainsfolk

The Plainsfolk are humans who settled in fertile plains, forests, and river valleys, becoming farmers, builders, and diplomats. They are the heartland of human civilization, known for producing abundant crops, powerful cities, and influential leaders. Their communities form the backbone of human society, and their diplomatic traditions have shaped alliances across Velmora for generations.

Highlanders

The Highlanders are rugged, mountain-dwelling humans known for their strong warrior traditions, clan-based societies, and resilience. They are experts in defense, hunting, and forging tools in the harsh conditions of the highlands. Their mountain strongholds have withstood countless sieges, and their warriors are feared across Velmora for their unyielding determination.

Seaborn

The Seaborn are coastal and island-dwelling humans known for their seafaring skills, merchant networks, and exploration of distant lands. They thrive as sailors, fishermen, and traders, controlling major maritime routes across Velmora. Their fleets connect distant shores, and their port cities serve as bustling hubs of commerce and cultural exchange.
